Très belle sculpture, le corps géométrisé forme avec la tête un zig-zag qui nous évoque certaines statuettes Lega
Les figures Yanda, au style abstrait représentent la force, les esprits

Ces figurines anthropomorphes (également appelées Nazeze) appartenaient aux plus hauts membres de la société du Mani. Elles étaient utilisées dans les rituels de divination de cette association, qui pourrait être comparée au culte du Bwami des Lega
Les Zande vivent dans le nord du Congo, dans l'Ubangi, le long du fleuve Uele

Very beautiful sculpture, the geometric body forms with the head a zig-zag which reminds us of certain Lega statuettes
The Yanda figures, with an abstract style and an indeterminate gender represent strength, the spirits
Those anthropomorphic figurines (also named Nazeze) belonged to the highest members of this society. They were used in the divination rituals of the Mani, an association that could be compared to the cult of the Bwami of the Lega

The Zande live in the north of the Congo, in the Ubangi, on the banks of the Uele river
