When African artists are influenced by European art.
The Ijo Kalabari, people of southern Nigeria,
have been in contact with Westerners since a very long time,
and have discovered our two-dimensional representations. They designed panels representing a prestigious ancestor, sacred altars of great dimensions named Nduein Fobara
This mask is a reduction, particularly similar to the screen of the Minneapolis Art Institute. No doubt artistic fantasy, it seems ancient. The only mask Nduein Fobara of which I found a trace would be in the Pitts River Museum.
