Association du BUKOTA.

Belle sculpture en bois léger,  

Les Metoko (appelés aussi Mituku) sont les descendants de migrants Lega  installés et sédentarisés dans la région du moyen Lwalaba. A l'instar des Lega, leur vie politique et sociale est organisée  autour  d’une association initiatique semi-secrète, le BUKOTA, que l'on peut comparer au  BWAMI de leurs ancêtres.

Ce type de statuette ( Kakungu) servait dans le cadre de ce culte.

 Ils sont aussi culturellement très proches de leurs voisins Lengola

Beautiful statue, made of light wood,

The Metoko (also named Mituku) are the descendants of Lega migrants settled in the middle Lwalaba region.   Like the Lega, their political and social life is organized  by a semi-secret association, the BUKOTA, which can be compared to the BWAMI of their ancestors. This type of statuette served for this cult.

 They are also culturally very close to their neighbors Lengola
