Ils sont géographiquement et culturellement proches des Tetela, et ont assimilé certaines traditions sociales et artistiques des Luba, des Hemba et des Songye

The hole dug at the top of the fetish's head contains 'magic' substances
The Kusu people live in eastern Congo, DRC, mainly in the province of Maniema, but also in those of North Kivu, Ituri and Tanganyika.
They are geographically and culturally close to the Tetela and have adopted certain social and artistic traditions from the Luba, Hemba and Songye.
