Like their Songye neighbors, the Luba created these highly recognizable and sought-after striated masks.
The Luba are a large people of eastern DRC. Their caryatid seats, cup holders, chiefs' sticks, arrow holders, adzes and ancestor statues are very famous and among the most prized objects in African Art.

PROVENANCE: Patric Claes
Patric Claes is a Belgian African Art dealer, located in Brussels. He is a specialist in traditional Congolese arts.
Participating in the last Cultures Bruneaf in 2019 at Sablon, Brussels, he also organized an exhibition of Mbangu Pende Masks (disease masks) in 2017
