The Yanda figures, in an abstract style, represent the force, the spirits
These anthropomorphic figurines (also called Nazeze) belonged to the highest members of there Mani company. They were used in the divination rituals of this association, which could be compared to the cult of the Bwami of the Lega
The Zande live in northern Congo, in the Ubangi, along the Uele River
