Superb SUKU bird helmet mask

Exceptional anthropo-zoomorphic mask. The half-closed eyes bear witness to great serenity. The face is delicately sculpted, and the kaolin that whitens it gives it a mystical aura. The complex headdress is finely sculpted and decorated with a bird that captivates the eye. (The meaning of the presence of animals on these masks remains enigmatic, according to Arthur P. Bourgeois)

It is, (to my personal taste, of course) aesthetically at least equal to similar anthropo-zoomorphic masks previously sold by Christies (23/06/2015, 97,500 Eur) and Sotheby's (11/05/2012, 15,000 USD) which makes it a masterpiece.

Of course and unfortunately, it does not have the same origin as the aforementioned, it comes from a Louviéroise family whose ancestors lived in the Congo.
The photo of the interior reveals its great antiquity
It is in fairly poor condition, and we recommend that the buyer consult a professional restorer.
The Suku are neighbors of the Yaka, and very close culturally.
