There Stylization of the face and silhouette gives aesthetics to the Metoko statues an irresistible “little robot” side
Settled and settled in the middle Lwalaba region, in the heart of the equatorial forest, the Metoko are said to be the descendants of Lega migrants (according to the oral tradition of the Lega themselves)
Like the Lega, their political and social life is organized around an initiatory association, the BUKOTA, which can be compared to the BWAMI of their ancestors.
They are also culturally very close to their Lengola neighbours who practice the same religion as them (See Felix page 110)
