The Songye are a people living in the wooded savannas
of the south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Like the Hemba, the Songye are culturally related to the Luba.
They are known artistically for their fetishes, their Kifwebe masks, their caryatid seats, their axes, their shields and their neckrests
