SUPERB SONGYE (Nkishi) FETISH.

One of the most glamorous Songye male fetishes encountered

Certain characteristics enhance its desirability:
Head turned to the side, relatively rare
The very dynamic position of the members
The presence of numerous brass upholstery nails

The Mankishi (plural of "Nkishi") are figures of power,
They serve as a relay with the spirits of the dead, very present in religion...
They are used in "magical" rites serving the interest, protection and well-being of an individual or the entire community.
