Pretty Dibu zoomorphic dog bell

Bells of this type, small prestige objects, were used by the peoples of the Lower Congo (Bakongo, Vili, Yombe, Woyo) during initiation rites, divination, as well as for therapeutic purposes, their music being supposed to attract ancestors, benevolent spirits and chase away vengeful spirits.
